Goals! Time to make 'em & break 'em.

The What:
This Friday, October 6, from 9-10am! Students and staff will run around our track to raise money for our school.

So What?
Does your child ride the bus? Play in our orchestra? Take one of our language, art, sport, or science electives?

This is how we make the magic happen, so get out there and ask for pledges --  ask people outside of your immediate family to pitch in. (There are rewards for being a superstar and raising $100 or more -- see below!)

Dress for success:
Help your child prepare with suitable clothing to run in, layers to moderate temperature, and a FULL water bottle.

The fields have been getting heavy dew, so although the forecast is dry, runners will likely appreciate a change of socks and shoes for after.
In other news, older elementary classrooms are off to Eagle Fern Camp next week. They will be gone Monday-Wednesday, participating in team building games and activities to set the course for the whole year.

This is the first chance for all four classrooms to get together and bond. Experiences like this help prepare the older students for the excursions of the MAC program, and introduce younger ones to the social skillset needed for their next three years in the classroom.

If you have a student preparing for camp, bear in mind that these trips are integral to the child's growing independence. At this age, they can be in charge of collecting items from their packing list, then you can go over them together and discuss choices.

Nervous/excited campers? Ask your children what they are looking forward to and what they have concerns about. Chances are, you have some experience that is useful to them.

And always, thank you for reading.
