Taking Care of Business --
Every Day.

Maria Montessori's work in education was as much a humanitarian effort as it was scholastic. Long before social justice became a catchphrase, Dr. Montessori recognized that inclusiveness and lessons in harmony begin from infancy.

Our daily work in the classroom emphasizes these principles, and our students are some of our most zealous monitors and mentors for peace and justice.

If you have questions about the many ways we address these issues in our school, or would like some ideas for your own life and family, include two upcoming workshops on your calendars.
Coming up first on February 2nd, join us for Coffee Hour in the Music Room after drop off. Tami O'Kinsella will be discussing our philosophies and procedures surrounding bullying and discipline in our school.

The following month, on March 3rd, sign up for a workshop about bias with Katie Kissinger. This in-depth event is perfect for leaders of every stripe, and offers Continuing Education credits.

Read about these opportunities -- and many more -- in this week's news, but don't lose sight of all the exciting things happening right here, right now, starting with Family Game Night! See you there.

And, as always, thank you for reading.

Don't miss this important Coffee Hour: Friday, February 2nd, Director of Education, Tami O’Kinsella, will speak with parents about how bullying and discipline are handled at Lewis & Clark Montessori.

Take part in this worthwhile conversation as well as coffee and pastries in the music room -- after morning drop off.

For the rest of January, Coffee Hour will be at Cat's Moon Coffee in Boring.

Life is more fun if you play games.” Roald Dahl was onto something. Add a little more fun in life and join in on Family Game Night! Make moves tonight from 5:30-7:30.

There will be a plethora of playing options, or bring your favorite (analog) game to teach and share!
Admission is FREE, and pizza will be available for $2/slice, along with other concessions.

This also marks the last chance to drop off Food Drive and Book Drive donations. Bonus: if you bring a book or food to donate, we'll give you a ticket for a free popcorn at Game Night.
Everybody wins; let the games begin!

The PTO meeting will be held Sunday, January 28th in the community room at New Seasons, Happy Valley. Everyone welcome!
